In November 2008, a costume colloquium was organized in Florence, Italy around the work of British costume historian Janet Arnold. Astrida's presentation will include slides and behind the scenes tours of film costume studios, conservation labs, and a viewing of the burial clothes of the 16th century Florentine duke, Cosimo di Medici.
The ASG UNH Historic Garment Group has worked with the Museum since 2007 focusing on cataloging garments from the University's historic Irma Bowen Textile Collection as well as exploring the sewing techniques used. We invite you to join us for an afternoon of social sewing. Materials for hand sewing will be provided as well as instructions.
